When it was produced in 1993, the Sony CM-R111 was one of the smallest phones to date, and is an example of a phone that was designed with fashion as well as functionality in mind. It had no screen, included a flip down microphone, and when it was launched it cost £500. It won the Innovation and Documentation award at the 1993 Cellnet CAESAR Awards
