Television receiver built from "Premier Radio" kit, made by Premier Radio Company, Hackney, London, England, 1945-1955
Television receiver built from "Premier Radio" kit, made by Premier Radio Company, Hackney, London, England, 1945-1955.
This home made television was home built to a very high standard from a kit. Premier Radio sold this kit for just over £17, including the 6 inch screen which had a green tinge. By making their own televisions users could save a lot of money. Television broadcasts were suspended during the Second World War and when they resumed commercially produced television sets were very expensive.
