Nameplate engraved "W H Henley's Telegraph Works Co Ld. Bahamas-Florida Cable 1891-92", from cable sample, probably British, c. 1891. The laying of the cable was completetd on 4 February 1892.

Sample of a submarine telegraph cable, laid between Nassau in the Bahamas and Jupiter in Florida. The cable was comissioned by the Colonial Government, under the Governorship of Sir Ambrose Shea. It was completed on 4 February 1892.
