Seal made of Parkesine, made by Alexander Parkes, c. 1862. Obverse, Queen Victoria seated on throne, wearing crown and holding orb in her left and sceptre in her right hand with two seated female attendants on either side. Royal coat of arms at base. Reverse, Queen Victoria on horseback, sceptre in her right hand, with page holding the horse. Inscription encircling disc, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA BRITANNIARUM REGINA FIDEI DEFENSOR. Suspension cord cut. Made in two part mould; moulding edges visible on circumference. Some cracks on both surfaces, (P73).
