Postcard made by ‘Transformers’ a Brighton trans youth peer support group, collected during Trans Pride, held in Brighton in 2013.

This postcard was made by Transformers, a Brighton based trans youth peer support group for 16-25 year olds. It was collected by a young trans person during Brighton’s Trans Pride event in 2013, the UK's first pride event for transgender individuals which ran in conjunction with Pride week in Brighton. The green and yellow postcard features a circle with gender symbols and lists a wide range of identities including trans, non-binary, intersex and gender variant, with the aim to promote awareness of the group. It was collected to represent themes of trans culture and community.

This object was donated following its display within a temporary exhibition at the Science Museum titled "What makes your gender?" in 2013, curated by a group of fifteen young transgender individuals working in partnership with the charity Gendered Intelligence.
