Prosthetic bum pads are designed to change the outward shape of an individual's body. These were made and used by the transgender activist, Luke Charlie Craggs, around 2013.
This object was donated following its display within a temporary exhibition at the Science Museum titled "What makes your gender?" in 2013, curated by a group of fifteen young transgender individuals working in partnership with the charity Gendered Intelligence.
