Coil of iron pipe with porous plug used by James Joule c.1860

Porous plugs are attached to one end of the coil. The piping is made of iron having an external diameter of 1 1/16 inch and 3/16 inch wall, the brass vessel containing the plugs is 6 inches long and has an external diameter of 3 5/8 inch.
