Maker's plate of Galloways Ltd, Manchester.

Galloways Ltd was a Manchester-based engineering company that specialised in making steam engines and boilers. The company was established in Manchester in 1835 as W & J Galloway. It was a partnership between brothers William and John Galloway. In 1856, the sons of the founders joined the partnership and it became W & J Galloway and Sons. In 1889 it became a private company, Galloways Ltd.
