Wimshurst electrical machine; near complete (a belt is missing).

The Wimshurst machine was invented by James Whimshurst between 1880 and 1883. They produce a high voltage by building up a charge of static electricity. They were used to demonstrate electrostatic sparks and the properties of electricity.
