Ignition coil for trembler system on Ford Model T car, 1924.
The trembler system on the Ford Model T was a part of the engine's electric ignition system. The ignition system used a flywheel-mounted magneto to create a spark for combustion. The system used four trembler coils, one for each cylinder. Each one is essentially a small transformer which steps up the voltage from the battery.
Electric ignition began in the 1920s. This ignition coil was made by the Ford Motor Company in America in 1924. The Model T Ford was produced between 1908 and 1927.
