Siemans polarized relay, 1890.

This poloriazed relay was made by Siemens Brothers & Co Ltd in 1890 and was used by The General Post Office. The telegraph relay was used to boost current from the line when operating over long distances. This instrument was capable of transmitting 400 words per minute on multiplexing systems.
