Vickers projection microscope by Cooke, Troughton & Simms Ltd, York, 1941, with an associated manual "Photomicrography with the Vickers Projection Microscope, 5th Edition, 1956".
This projection microscope was donated to the museum by Langfield Ltd, manufacturers of advanced metal products, besed on Liverpool Street, Salford. It was used by a metallurgist for testing metal samples. Langfields Ltd purchased it second-hand from UMIST.
