Edmund Bell was a navigator in the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. Navigators would plot the route the aircraft should take. This 45 degree set square was part of his navigator’s kit. It allowed him to plot 45-degree and 90-degree angles, as well as drawing perpendicular lines.
