A contamination meter made by Clifford & Snell of Sutton. The monitoring of radiation in the workplace in the nuclear industry is essential as ionising radiation is damaging to life. There are three different types of radiation: alpha, beta and gamma. Meters like this one are used to monitor levels of radiation to keep workers in the nuclear industry safe.
