Dummy British Experimental Pile Operation (BEPO) research fuel rod made by the Ministry of Supply, Radway Green, July 1948.

This dummy fuel rod is the type that was used at Harwell nuclear reactor, Britain's first research reactor. The Harwell reactor was operational between 1948 and 1968. The cladding of the rod is aluminium and it has fins to aid cooling.
