British Nuclear Fuels Limited dummy Windscale Mk 4A nuclear reactor fuel rod, 1968.

This is a dummy example of the type of fuel rod used in the Windscale nuclear reactor, Britain's first nuclear reactor, which opened in 1950. This reactor produced plutonium for Britain's weapons programme. It was obtained by processing the spent fuel elements from the reactor.
