Module from IBM System/360 computer, made by IBM, United States, 1965-1971. Numbered 0509 160184 648 WF.
In 1971, NASA’s Manned Spacecraft Centre in Houston, USA was the home of mission control and astronaut training for the Apollo Program. It had four System/360 Model 75 computers. Each of these computers was made of hundreds of modules like this one, which performed vital logic functions for the computer. Each of the small silver square capsules has a complete electronic circuit sealed inside. One is opened so that you can see inside: the black patches are resistances, the grey squares are transistors and are not much bigger than a grain of salt.
