Safety bicycle made in France and retailed by the Lu-Min-Um Manufacturing Company, St Mary's Gate, Manchester, 1896

This gleaming machine was ahead of its time. Lu-Min-Um introduced the first aluminium bicycles to Britain. It was the shape of things to come – experimenting with light-weight materials and advanced designs.
