Cylindrical grinding machine, made by Churchill Machine Tool Co. Ltd, Manchester.

Cylindrical grinders were used to finish either the outside of cylinder-shaped machine parts. This machine still has its grinding wheel in place. Grinding machines give off large quantities of metal dust that can damage the machinery if it is allowed to build up. This machine has a plaque to remind the operator to clean it regularly.
