Acorn Atom Computer

Kevan Earl bought the Acorn Atom Kit by mail-order on the 15th of January 1981. The purchase price was £150.20. It took him between one and two weeks to build the computer, without help, which worked the first time it was switched on. Kevan used the Acorn to write a program for Backgammon. He approached a software company called Bug Byte who were so impressed they developed the programme and produced it commmercially.
