One florin coin (two shillings), 1916, taken from the body of Mr John Jones in the early 1920s.
Mr John Jones was victim of a roof fall at St. Georges Pit of Astley & Tyldesley Collieries (in yard mine, no.3 pit) on 20/10/19. The roof fell in one large 25 ton block and relatives claimed that the manager used explosives to clear it with the body still beneath it.
