An M.E. 6 Mk1 six shot exploder, made by Marston Excelsior Limited, for use in coal mining.
Explosives were used in Lancashire coal mines to break up coal to make it easier to remove from the mine. The exploder supplied electic charge for firing the detonator in the explosive cartridge.
