Touring bicycle made by Frank Herety, Higher Hillgate, Stockport, 1983.

At the age of 14, Frank Herety followed his father's career and started an apprenticeship at the Manchester bicycle company L. H. Brookes. In 1979 he opened his own business at his home in Stockport, specialising in building frames for the Manchester racing community. Herety probably built about 220 frames. Frank's son John became a professional road racing cyclist who raced for Great Britain at the 1980 Olympic Games and won the National Championship in 1982. He became manager of the British Road Race Team.
