Tandem bicycle made by Jack E Sibbit, c.1928.
Jack Sibbit was both a celebrated cyclist and a skilled bicycle builder. He made this tandem around the same time that he won silver in the 1928 Olympics. He didn’t compete in the 1932 Games because he couldn’t afford to close his shop. John “Jack” Ephraim Sibbit 1895–1950. Member of the Manchester Wheelers he was a regular favourite at the Fallowfield track. By the age of 41 he held twelve national titles including tandem sprints.
