The archive material consists of catalogues, in-house publications, various technical bulletins from professional bodies and in-house, and photograph albums of the earlier Salford Iron Works. Many of these documents relate to Mather & Platt's sprinklers and other fire protection equipment. There are also a few engineering drawings, some items relating to Mather & Platt company history and staff, such as company magazines and information on the pension scheme.
