Gas light shade
- PART OF:
- The Bob
- Made:
- 1900-1930 in unknown place
Gas light shade, for one mantle, opal. Tulip-shaped open-ended glass shade with flange to top.
Part of the Bob Gray collection of electrical objects.
Shades like this not only made a bright light less harsh, but also protected fragile gas mantles from accidental damage. The glass shades themselves are relatively fragile. Many were broken and often surviving gas fittings lack their original shades.
