Thermionic valve - photo-electric cell, complete with original box and instruction sheet.

Cylindrical cell with four pins on the base and screw down fitting at the top. The glass cell contains cathode and angled plate which is anode. Printed on cell body; 15137 GEC Ltd. type CM 17 Photo cell, Made in England.

The wooden box has clip fastenings at the front and is lined with padded material. Printed on the padded underside of the lid; Osram photo cell, made in England by The General Electric Co. Ltd.
