Galvanometer contained in a wooden chest, manufactured by Kelvin James White Ltd, Glasgow & London. Lord Kelvin Patent.

With copper electrodes. Lid is removable and reveals main meter, which is encased in wood framed glass box. In 1900 Professor William Thomson (Lord Kelvin) became a director in Kelvin and James White Ltd which acquired the business of James White.
