Nexus One mobile phone, USB power cable, charger and adaptor manufactured by HTC for Google, Taiwan, 2010

The Nexus One was the first Google phone, launched in 2010. Its codename prior to release was the HTC Passion. Google manages to design, development and marketing of the Nexus phones, but all manufacturing is done by third party companies. The Nexus One was manufactured by HTC. It was subject to a lawsuit after release from Phillip K Dick, a science fiction writer who claimed that the 'Nexus' name exploited intellectual property from his novel 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep', which the androids were called 'Nexus 6'.
