Nestle Quality Street 35mm, 24 exposure disposable camera. 'Capture your quality moments'.

Disposable cameras were first introduced in the 1980s. They were designed for consumers who were reluctant to purchase more expensive reusable models. Disposable cameras were popular at events, and as promotional free gifts. This camera is inside a ‘Quality Street’ sleeve, decorated with the branding for the popular range of chocolates produced by Nestle.

Many of these early models were truly single use and were destroyed when the film was removed and developed. Major photographic companies became aware of the environmental implication of this design and developed recycling schemes to repurpose disposable cameras.
