Cloth cutting table, with movable table- top, manufactured by Thos. Walker and Son Ltd in Manchester, about 1920 and used at Moorson Products Ltd, an overall manufacturer, and later by a Salford clothing designer.

This cloth cutting table was manufactured in Manchester by Thomas Walker and Son, a company that produced tools and accessories for the clothing trade. The table was designed to allow large amounts of cloth to be cut at one time. The makers patented a table that incorporated a hooking mechanism to secure and then cut up to 30 folds of fabric at one time.

Overall manufacturers Moorson Products acquired the table in about 1926, and it was initially used by their Head Cutter, William Firmedow. It remained in use there until about 1985, before being acquired by a clothes designer, Audrey Bertenshaw, in 1991, for use in her studio in Salford.
