A photographic portrait entitled 'James Spedding', taken by Julia Margaret Cameron (1815-1879) in 1864. This albumen print forms part of the Herschel Album, created by Cameron for her friend Sir John Herschel (1792-1871). James Spedding' (1808-1881) was an undergraduate at Trinity College, Cambridge, with Alfred Tennyson and was his lifelong friend.
