Photograph entitled 'La Madonna Adolorata', taken by Julia Margaret Cameron in 1864. Albumen contact print from wet collodion negative. This photographic study of Elizabeth 'Topsy' Keown (born 1859) and Mary Ann Hillier (1847-1936) forms part of the Herschel Album, created by Cameron for her friend Sir John Herschel (1792-1871).
