Photograph entitled 'John Jackson MD', taken by Julia Margaret Cameron in 1864. Albumen contact print from wet collodion negative. This portrait of Dr John Jackson (1804-1887) forms part of the Herschel Album, created by Cameron for her friend Sir John Herschel (1792-1871). In 1845 Jackson married Cameron's youngest sister, Maria.
