Photograph entitled 'The Dialogue' taken by Julia Margaret Cameron in 1866. Albumen contact print from wet collodion negative. This photographic study of Mary Ann Hillier (1847-1936) and Mary Emily 'May' Prinsep (1853-1931) forms part of the Herschel Album, created by Cameron for her friend Sir John Herschel (1792-1871).
