Julia Jackson
Photograph entitled 'Julia Jackson' taken by Julia Margaret Cameron in 1864. Albumen contact print from wet collodion negative. This photographic portrait of Julia Jackson (1846-1895) forms part of the Herschel Album, created by Cameron for her friend Sir John Herschel (1792-1871). Jackson first married the barrister Herbert Duckworth (died in 1870) and then subsequently married Sir Leslie Stephen the editor of The Dictionary of National Biography. They had four children, including the Vanessa Bell and Virginia Woolf.
