Photograph entitled 'Teachings from the Elgin Marbles' taken by Julia Margaret Cameron in 1867. Albumen contact print from wet collodion negative. This photographic study of Cyllena Margaret Wilson (1851-1883) and Mary Ann Hillier (1847-1936), posed as sculptures from the Parthenon Frieze, forms part of the Herschel Album, created by Cameron for her friend Sir John Herschel (1792-1871).
