This photographic study of Henry John Stedman Cotton (1845-1917) and Mary Ryan (1848-1914) posed as characters from William Shakespeare's (1564-1616) play 'Romeo And Juliet' (1594-1595) forms part of the Herschel Album, created by Cameron for her friend Sir John Herschel (1792-1871).
