This photographic study of William Frederick 'Freddy' Gould (born 1861) forms part of the Herschel Album, created by Cameron for her friend Sir John Herschel (1792-1871). This study forms part of a series of 'Life sized heads' of five-year-old-children. There were two series produced. Freddy Gould and Alice Jessie Keown (born 1861) are two known sitters in the series.
