Mr Zerox robot with box packaging, manufactured by Horikawa, Japan, 1970

This is a second generation Mr Zerox robot, intropduced in Horikawa's 1970 catalogue. It differed in some details from the original design, but it represents the many different designs of toy robot which were created in the post-war period, and their sustained influence over the popular imagination and how robots should look and behave.
