Attacking Martian (Big head) robot with box packaging, manufactured by Horikawa, Japan, 1966-1969

This toy robot by Horikawa was a major retail success. It was capable of new actions and featured new styling - it came in silver and later gold, and the chest doors opened to reveal the ligted guns within - a feature that was copied by subsequent toy robots. Attacking Martian was, then, a major influence on public perceptions of robots in the real world.
