Gear Robot with box packaging

Made:
1970 in Japan

Gear Robot with box packaging, manufactured by Horikawa, Japan, 1970

Although the design of this robot toy by Horikawa was new, and could vary in different wats from one production run to another, the functions were identical to the wind-up toy robots being made as early as 1962, with a sparking mechanism in the chest panel lighting up the inner gears alongside as they rotated.
