Gear Robot, manufactured by Horikawa, Japan, 1964

This particular design of 'gear' robot became a regular feature of Horikawa's catalogues of toy robots. The red helmet flashed, and gears in the robot's chest rotated as it walked forward driven by a clockwork mechanism.
