Ink well, featuring HMSO insignia, unknown maker, 1950-1995.

This container for storing pen ink was formerly used by staff in the administrative offices of the Science Museum. It was designed with a wide base to prevent it from being accidentally knocked over and the ink spilled. Until the National Heritage Act 1983, the Science Museum was run as a part of the civil service. Office materials were supplied by HM Stationery Office.
