Clock-watch by an unknown maker, Germany, c.1600. Circular case made from gilt-brass, made up of a flat band around the movement and a domed back and cover. All parts chased, engraved and pierced. Gilt-brass dial, with engraved central sun and Roman numerals with touch pins. Steel hand. The movement has a three-wheel train, verge escapement, with a later balance cock. Engraved edge to top plate. The wheels are made from brass as are the mainspring barrels. The striking mechanism and count wheel are of a later date.
