Oval puritan-style watch with outer box by Edward East, London c. 1630. Plain silver case with a round crystal in the front cover, secured by a ring on the inside of the cover. Plain silver outer box with clasp. Plain silver dial with engraved chapter ring. Steel hand with a long tail. Movement with verge escapement, fusee and gut-line, and a train of three wheels. Pinned-on balance cock and ratchet set-up regulator. Signed on the backplate 'Eduardus East Londini'. Clockmakers' Museum No. 22
