Verge escapement watch movement by Thomas Tompion and George Graham c.1711
The movement has a white enamel dial and steel beetle and poker hands. It is signed on the backplate ‘Tho Tompion, Geo. Graham London 4369’
The brief partnership of Tompion and Graham lasted only two years, starting in 1711, but ending soon after as a result of Tompion’s death in 1713. This watch is one of the earliest surviving from this period. Clockmakers' Museum No. 130.
