Watch in a porcelain case by J Grantham, London, c. 1750. White porcelain case and bezel with gilt-metal mounts. The outside is painted with clusters of flowers and nuts, and on the inside is a trompe l'oeil fly. White enamel dial with steel beetle and poker hands, and an aperture for winding the watch. Fusee movement with verge escapement, signed 'J. Grantham London 2980'.
