Watch by Sir John Bennett, London, 1884. Hallmarked gold case, stamped 42972. A monogram of P inside B is engraved on the back cover, and the cuvette is engraved 'Maker to the Royal Observatory Sir John Bennett 65 and 64 Cheapside, London.' Enamel dial with subsidiary seconds. Three quarter plate keyless movement with lever escapement. Signed on the movement ‘Sir John Bennett 65 & 64 Cheapside London 42972’. Clockmakers' Museum No. 499.
