Gold watch with one-minute tourbillon retailed by S Smith & Son of 9 Strand London. Gold hunter case hallmarked for London, 1907 and marked 'SS' for Samuel Smith and Son. Silvered dial with subsidiary seconds and state-of-wind dials, and blued steel hands. Signed S Smith & Son, 9 Strand London, No. 302/8' and also marked with seals of the Lord High Admiralty of Great Britain and of the King of Spain. Three-quarter plate movement with lever escapement and one minute tourbillon, made by Nicole Nielsen & Co. Movement engraved 'Makers to the Admiralty, S Smith & Son, 9 Strand London, No. 502-8' and 'To H.M. the King of Spain' with engraved seals of the Lord High Admiralty of Great Britain and of the King of Spain. Movement set behind glazed window of case. Presented to the Museum of the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers by Smith Industries Ltd in 1968. Clockmakers' Museum No. 506
